GM/Coach Ernest Maurice \”Kiki\” Vandeweghe, III, took brief leave of the Nets for \”personal reasons\” over the weekend as Assistant Coach John Loyer stood in. We now know it was to be at his mother\’s bedside who passed away Wednesday morning after a lengthy illness. She was 83. The memorial service will be held after the season is over. Our sincere condolences to Kiki and the entire Vandeweghe family.*
